Hyderabad:
More than Rs 103 crore of unaccounted cash, 70 kg of gold and 300 kg of silver have been seized so far in enforcement of Model Code of Conduct for the Legislative assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh.
According to State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Bhanwarlal the total unaccounted for cash seized in the whole country has been 265 crores, of which 103.39 crores was seized in Andhra Pradesh alone.
Besides cash, 3,76,830 litres of illicit liquor have also been seized in Andhra Pradesh.
The Election Commission have already identified Andhra Pradesh as being expenditure-sensitive.
Simultaneous elections to Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly would be held in undivided Andhra Pradesh on April 30 in Telangana and on May 7 in Seemandhra.
