Election Results 2014: Expelled Son MK Alagiri Offers No Comment on DMK Debacle

Madurai: Though the supporters of MK Alagiri were in a jubilant mood with the DMK candidates heading for defeat in southern districts of Tamil Nadu, the expelled leader today declined to comment on the debacle of the party headed by his father M Karunanidhi.

"We did not contest the elections, we did not win nor did we lose," the party's Madurai strongman told reporters before asking them to disperse.

Apparently Mr Alagiri was unhappy that some candidates, including MDMK's Vaiko, whom he supported indirectly, were also trailing.

His supporters said "Annan" (Alagiri) was not happy as the DMK did not come to third place as expected by him.

According to one of his supporters, who gathered near his house as the counting of votes in Lok Sabha polls was taken up, Mr Alagiri asked them as to whether they actually worked for those who came to him seeking support.

Mr Alagiri, expelled for working against the party interest after he openly criticised his younger brother MK Stalin, had campaigned extensively in southern districts against DMK candidates.
