Narendra Modi's party will win six of the 14 seats in the state, two more than its tally in 2009. A huge increase of 19 per cent in its vote-share is propelling its surge.

The Congress and its ally, the Bodoland People's Front, are expected to see their tally dip by two seats. The Congress had won seven seats in the 2009 national elections.

For the first time, the BJP and the Congress are expected to run neck-and-neck in terms of vote share. Both are expected to win 35 per cent votes.

The Congress may also have lost some ground to Badruddin Ajmal's Assam United Democratic Front (AUDF), which is expected to win two seats, one more than 2009. Its vote-share has gone up from 11.19 per cent to 16 per cent.
