New Delhi: One person has died in firing at a polling booth in Sitamarhi, north Bihar, as voting was being held for the eighth phase in the national elections today.
The Bihar Director General of Police said there was a clash between some people allegedly trying to capture the booth and policemen who tried to stop them.
Some people, he said, tried to snatch a rifle from a policeman, and other cops present opened fire at close range.
