Priyanka Gandhi hits back at BJP, says party scrambling like rats
Raebareli: Priyanka Gandhi on Sunday upped the attack on the BJP, accusing the party of "scrambling like rats".

"They are scrambling like panic-stricken rats. I knew that they will repeat their bunch of lies. There is nothing new in it but let them say whatever they want to. I am not afraid of anyone and will continue to speak against their negative, destructive and shameful politics," Priyanka said in Raebareli.

"I will not remain quite and I am waiting for them to say more," she added.

Her sharp comments came after the BJP alleged with a video that Mr Vadra has made a vast fortune on the strength of his marriage to Priyanka, and that his business earnings could not have conducted without the knowledge of Rahul and Sonia Gandhi, the top two leaders of the Congress. In the last week, Priyanka has taken on Narendra Modi, the BJP's prime ministerial candidate, with a series of aggressive comments. Today, she took a jibe at Mr Modi's "56-inch chest" remark during a rally in Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh recently.

The BJP says that the Gandhis must explain how Mr Vadra's wealth has allegedly leap-frogged in the last few years; it says he was given sweetheart land deals in Haryana, where the Congress is in power.

Speaking to NDTV today, Ahmed Patel, who is Sonia Gandhi's political secretary, said that Mr Vadra has not been shown any special favours, daring the BJP to launch any inquiry they wish into his land purchases.
