Raigarh: BJP served poll code violation notice for setting up 'NaMo tea stall'

Raigarh, Chhattisgarh: Raigarh Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) has issued a show-cause notice to BJP for allegedly violating the model code of conduct by putting up a 'NaMo tea stall' in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh and using a microphone for campaigning without  permission.

In the notice issued to district BJP president Rajesh  Sharma, SDM Tirtharaj Agrawal said the party violated the poll code by using a microphone in its campaign at Jail Road in Raigarh  on March 8 and also put up banners on government property without permission.

The putting up of 'NaMo tea stall' resulted in traffic congestion in the area, the officer said.

Agrawal said a police case would be filed if BJP's response is found to be unsatisfactory.
