Hyderabad:
Police today seized unaccounted-for cash of Rs 1.5 crore from a vehicle today in Nalgonda district of Andhra Pradesh.
The money was recovered from a mini-lorry at Chinthapally town, about 100km from Hyderabad, at around 1 am on Friday and the same was handed over to district and IT department officials, a police officer said, adding the matter was under investigation.
The mini-lorry was on its way to Prakasam from Hyderabad.
Police on April 30 had found burnt currency notes worth Rs 1.5 lakh in an abandoned vehicle bearing a sticker of a local Congress leader on the outskirts of Suryapet town in Nalgonda district, which voted on April 30. A probe is on in the case.
