Shamli:
A case has been filed against Samajwadi Party candidate Nahid Hasan for making defamatory remarks against BJP leader Narendra Modi and Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati.
While addressing a meeting at the Shamli inter-college, Mr Hasan made the controversial comments on both Mr Modi and Ms Mayawati.
A case under Sec 171G of the Indian Penal Code has been filed against him. "We observed the video. During elections, one cannot make such comments that he was making. He will be prosecuted according to law," said district magistrate Narendra Singh.
