Andhra Pradesh is one of the four states where Assembly elections were held alongside the Lok Sabha polls. The 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state voted in a one phase on May 13.
The incumbent YSR Congress Party, led by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, faces a tough fight from the NDA front comprising BJP, N Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party and actor-politician Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party.
The YSRCP had scored a thumping win in the last Lok Sabha election, winning 22 out of the state's 25 seats and 151 out of 175 Assembly seats. This time around, exit polls have predicted a big victory for the NDA in Andhra Pradesh. A health warning, however, must be kept in mind: exit polls often get it wrong.
