While campaigning in Bihar today, Narendra Modi referred to the blasts targeting his rally in Patna last year, saying "God" had protected him.
"I visited Bihar for the Patna rally on 27th October. Bihar gave me so much love that I became Bihar's. People who wished well for Bihar were dying, but God saved me and I feel blessed. If it wasn't for God, Modi may not be standing here," Mr Modi said at a rally in Samastipur hours after he cast his vote in Ahmedabad and snapped a selfie.
"If God protected me then, then it is this land in Bihar that will make me win on May 16."
On a day parts of India voted in the seventh round of the national election, Mr Modi once again tore into Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi over their tie-up with Bihar politician Lalu Yadav, who was jailed after being convicted in a fodder scam case and has been barred from contesting polls.
"In Bihar, the mother and son have a relationship with Lalu, they are helping each other. They even got him out of jail. Then why don't they share the stage with him? Why don't you have the guts? You play games behind curtains but you can't do it openly?" Mr Modi questioned.
The 63-year-old told the crowds that they must see him as a "servant", not a ruler. "I am not a Chief Ministerial or Prime Ministerial candidate for you, I am your servant," he said.
Mr Modi, the BJP's prime ministerial candidate, has blamed Bihar's Nitish Kumar government for lapses in security after the serial blasts in which six people were killed and more than 80 injured.
Terror group Indian Mujahideen has been accused of masterminding the blasts.
