New Delhi: As Narendra Modi prepares to take charge as India's next Prime Minister on Monday, he seems to be wasting no time in getting down to business. (Nawaz Sharif Will Attend Narendra Modi's Swearing-in )

NDTV had earlier reported that all top officials of the government have been told to prepare 20-minute power point presentations for a meeting with the PM-to-be that may take place "any time after he takes over."  (For PM-to-be Narendra Modi, 20-Minute Presentations from 84 Departments)

Sources say top bureaucrats in all key ministries have now been asked to prepare lists of projects that are ready for implementation. They have reportedly also been asked to enlist projects that could not be implemented along with details of what according to them caused the delay. Suggestions on how these projects can be implemented fast are also welcome, they have been told. (Narendra Modi Asks Officials: Should We Downsize Government?)

Interestingly, in a four-point questionnaire sent earlier by the cabinet secretary via SMS, officials in various ministries were asked to identify achievements as well as failures of the Congress-led UPA government. (Narendra Modi Gets Down to Business, Wants Report Card From Ministries)

They have also been asked to state if there were any projects or schemes that they think were implemented despite opposition from top bureaucrats. They can also share if they find the methodology adopted by the last government faulty.

Sources say Mr Modi is keen to have one-on-one meetings with each secretary. It is rare for secretaries of the government of India to meet the PM directly, officials told NDTV.
