In Arunachal Pradesh, elections to two Lok Sabha seats and 60 Assembly seats were held in a single phase on April 19. Among the candidates is Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, who has been winning the Arunachal West since 2014. The Congress has chosen former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki for the key contest. Mr Tuki lost to Mr Rijiju last time.
On Arunachal East, BJP has fielded sitting MP Tapir Gao, who is up against Congress's Bosiram Siram.
A turnout of 66 per cent was recorded in the election to the two Lok Sabha seats. The voter turnout in the Assembly polls stood at 68 per cent.
In the Assembly poll results declared today, the incumbent BJP cruised to a comfortable victory in Arunachal Pradesh.
