About Chandigarh Lok Sabha Election Results

Constituted in 1966, the union territory of Chandigarh is the capital of two neighbouring states - Punjab and Haryana. The city is a Lok Sabha parliamentary constituency.

The total number of voters in the Lok Sabha elections was 6,59,805. The voter turnout in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections was 62.8%.

The current sitting member of parliament of the Chandigarh constituency is Bharatiya Janta Party's Kirron Kher. She won with a margin of 46,970 votes in 2019. She received 2,31,188 votes, compared to her closest contestant, Pawan Kumar Bansal of the Congress, who got 1,84,218 votes.

This year, BJP candidate Sanjay Tandon is contesting against Congress' candidate and former Union minister Manish Tewari.

Chandigarh voted on June 1, in the seventh and last phase.

India voted for the Lok Sabha Election 2024 in seven phases that began on April 19 and ended on June 1. The results will be announced on June 4.
