About Chhattisgarh Lok Sabha Election Results

Voting for the 11 Lok Sabha seats in Chhattisgarh was held in three phases on April 19, 26 and May 7.

A total of 220 candidates were contesting the polls that saw more than 1.39 crore electors eligible to cast their vote.

Of these, 69,33,121 are men, 69,67,544 are women and 620 members of the third gender.

As many as 25 polling booths were categorised as vulnerable and 1072 as critical.

Maoist-affected Bastar seat voted on April 19, while Kanker Rajnandgaon and Mahasamund voted on April 26. The remaining seven seats – Durg, Raipur, Janjgir-Chapa, Korba, Surguja, Raigarh, and Bilaspur went to polls on May 7.

Bastar seat recorded a turnout of over 68% while the highest voter turnout was recorded in Rajnandgaon at 77%.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed rallies for BJP in the state, while for the Congress, party president Mallikarjun Kharge, and senior leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra led the campaigning.
