The Daman and Diu, spread across an area of 112 square kilometres is represented by one parliamentary constituency in the Lok Sabha.
The territory comprised two districts, Daman and Diu island.
It is one of the least populated regions in India. It also has the lowest male-female sex ratio in India.
Daman and Diu was merged with Dadra and Nagar Haveli to form one union territory in 2020.
In 2019, Daman And Diu recorded 71.83% voter turnout. BJP's Lalubhai Babubhai Patel won with a margin of 9,942 votes, defeating Congress's Ketan Dahyabhai Patel who won 27,655 votes.
The polling in Daman and Diu Lok Sabha constituency was held in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 3. results will be declared on June 4.
