Live : Dumka Assembly Election 2019

The Dumka Lok Sabha constituency, which is reserved under the scheduled tribe category, consists of  Skiaripara, Nala, Jamtara, Sarath, Dumka and Jama assembly segments. Under this constituency the Skiaripara, Dumka and Jama assembly seats fall under the scheduled tribe category . 

The constituency went to polls on May 19 in the seventh phase of 2019 general elections. The poll results will be released on May 23.

JMM's Shibu Soren is the sitting MP from this constituency. In 2014 he defeated Sunil Soren, the BJP  nominated candidate in this seat by a margin of 39030 . He is a eight-time Member of Parliament. He is also a member of the Standing Committee on Food, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, and of the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Steel and Mines. 

This time the lok sabha elections will have Arjun Pujhar, who was the AITC nominated candidate from this constituency along with JMM's Shibu Soren, CPI's Senapati Murmu, BJP's Sunil Soren and BSP's Stephan Besra. They are among the 15 candidates who are in fray for the seat, of which are nine independent candidates.

The General Elections of 2014 saw a total voter turnout of 1,247,155.
