Live : Giridih Assembly Election 2019

The Giridih Lok Sabha constituency consists of Giridih, Dumri, Gomia, Bermo, Tundi and Baghmara assembly segments. 

The constituency went to polls on May 12 in the sixth phase of 2019 general elections. The poll results will be released on May 23.

BJP's Ravindra Kumar Pandey is the sitting MP from this constituency. In 2014 he defeated Jagarnath Mahto, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) nominated candidate in this seat by a margin of 40313. He is a five-time Member of Parliament. He is also a member of the Committee on Estimates, Standing Committee on Energy, Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Coal, Sub Committee-3 of the Committee on Estimates and Sub Committee-4 of the Committee on Estimates on the subject 'Panchayati Raj'. 

This time the lok sabha elections will have Chandra Prakash Choudhary, who was the AJSU Party's nominated candidate from this constituency along with JMM's Jagarnath Mahato and BSP's Rasul Baksh. They are among the 15 candidates who are in fray for the seat, of which are four independent candidates.

The General Elections of 2014 saw a total voter turnout of 1,515,137.
