About Kodarma

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Ravindra Kumar Ray was elected from Kodarma in Jharkhand on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. He received 3,65,410 votes. His closest opponent was Rajkumar Yadav from CPI (ML) who received 2,66,756 votes. Ravindra Kumar Ray won the constituency by a margin of 98,654 votes.
 
In 2009 general elections Kodarma seat was won by Babulal Marandi of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM). In 2004 general elections as well Kodarma parliamentary seat was won by Babulal Marandi on a BJP ticket and his runner up was Champa Verma of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).
 
Kodarma parliamentary constituency consists of six Vidhan Sabha seats these are Kodarma, Barkatha, Dhanwar, Bagodar, Jamua and Gandey.
 
Voting for Kodarma seat was concluded in the fifth phase of elections on May 6.
 
In the 2019 general elections BJP has fielded Annpurna Devi, All India Trinamool Congress candidate is Kanchan Kumari, JVM has fielded Babulal Marandi and BSP's candidate is Sarfaraj Ahmad.
