Sikkim is the lone Lok Sabha constituency in the state and covers all four districts of the state. The landlocked state is one of the smallest and the least populated states in the country. As per Election Commission's announcement, polls for the single Sikkim Lok Sabha seat and simultaneous polls for the 32 Assembly seats was held in a single phase on April 19, 2024.
The counting of votes for the Assembly elections was held on June 1, where Sikkim Krantikari Morcha registered a sweep, winning 31 out of the 32 assembly seats. The Opposition party Sikkim Democratic Front won onnly one seat - Shyari.
With a population of over 6,10,000, Sikkim is the country's least populated state. A total of 4,32,306 voters with 2,20,305 male voters and 2,12,001 women voters were eligible to exercise their franchise this 2024 elections. Sikkim recorded close to 78 per cent voter turnout.
