Los Angeles:
Actress Lindsay Lohan's bag containing her passport and other important documents was stolen from her car but was later found with $ 10,000 missing.
The 25-year-old, who is holidaying in Hawaii, feared she would be stranded after her USD 5,000 Chanel handbag - containing the cash, passport, plane ticket and probation documentation - was allegedly stolen, reported TMZ online.
In an audio tape obtained by TMZ, Lohan could be heard panicking that she would miss a status hearing in her probation case, which is scheduled to take place in LosAngeles.
"I was at the party with my passport and my ID, so I can get back into the country and I have to fly in, to go straight to court... It was a white jeep. It was locked though, and someone must have gone through the back of the truck because there's no alarm and just taken it out.
"It was locked the whole time, parked right here... It just so happens that I left all my clothes and cash and ID and my plane coupon, which I have to get," Lohan said.
The police were called to the party Lohan was attending, and many people reportedly helped try to locate the bag, but found nothing.
However, the following morning, one of Lohan's entourage spotted a suspicious-looking local, who initially denied anything but later appeared with the designer handbag, which he said he had found in the street.
"Everything was still in the purse, except the cash she was carrying with her," Lohan's spokesperson said. The actress is due in court for a probation hearing related to a 2007 DUI (driving under the influence) conviction.
