On Twitter, fans are marking the day with two separate trends - 15 Golden Years Of Kareena and the hashtag #15YearsOfAB.
We haven't heard from the social media-shy Kareena yet, but Abhishek has been tweeting. He thanked director JP Dutta and his co-stars, saving a special mention for Kareena:
Refugee starred Kareena as the daughter in a family migrating from the newly created Bangladesh to Pakistan via India and Abhishek as a mysterious agent known only as Refugee who helps them. The film was among the year's most anticipated, featuring as it did the debuts of actors who belonged to two of Bollywood's leading families - the Kapoors and the Bachchans.
15 years later, both actors are married - Kareena to Saif Ali Khan and Abhishek to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan - and continue to appear in films.
