Los Angeles:
Rapper 50 Cent has shown his support for victims of super storm Sandy by serving them dinner at a charity event.
The 37-year-old, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, joined forces with Feeding America, Food Network and the Food Bank for New York City to host a Thanksgiving turkey dinner at Cipriani restaurant in Manhattan, reported MTV online.
"I am able to provide meals for victims of Sandy or other people in New York City that don't actually have food. Hunger is a world issue, it's not a third-world issue," he said.
"One in six Americans are actually going hungry. You got children that's surviving based on their school lunch, and more than one out of five kids are experiencing hunger," he added.
The rapper-entrepreneur contributes a cut of the profits from product lines including his Street King energy drink and SMS Audio headphones range to help provide food for those in need via organisations such as Feeding America and City Harvest.
Celebrities including Rihanna, Ben Stiller, Alec Baldwin and Kelly Osbourne have also shown their support for those affected by Sandy.
