New Delhi: Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez's new movie A Gentlemancontinues its run at the box office, raking in a sum of Rs 18.47 crore in six days, reported trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The movie released on August 25 and remained moderately consistent with its collection figures starting Monday. A Gentleman recorded a score of Rs 4.04 crore on its opening day and made a little higher than that on each days over the weekend. Monday saw a dip in ticket sales but that's only in parity with the general box office trend. Tuesday is when Sidharth Malhotra's new film fetched the least in terms of single-day collections with Rs 1.60 crore. Sunday witnessed the highest footfalls for the movie with Rs 4.73 crore.
Directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, A Gentleman opened to average reviews last week. In his review for NDTV, Saibal Chatterjee says Sidharth Malhotra, who occupies most of the screen space, could have made the film stand-out indeed: "If only Malhotra possessed the histrionic subtleties to pull off the role of a highly trained killer who dreams of happy domesticity - a steady job, a comfortable home, a pretty garden and a family swanky car, all achieved through strictly honest means - A Gentleman would have sparkled a great deal more."
A Gentleman stars Sidharth Malhotra in dual roles - both as the sunder and susheel Gaurav and the risky Rishi, with Jacqueline as Kavya. The movie also stars names like Darshan Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Supriya Pilgaonkar and Rajit Kapur.
A Gentleman released along with films like Nawazuddin Siddiqui's Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, Aadar Jain's debut movie Qaidi Band and Tamil thiller Vivegam.
