New Delhi:
Kapil Sharma's comeback on television doesn't seem too far. The business head of Sony, which aired The Kapil Sharma Show, told news agency IANS: "Kapil will be back with a bang on the small screen very soon." As of now, Kapil Sharma is awaiting the release of his second Bollywood film Firangi. "His movie Firangi is releasing on November 24. We are very fond of Kapil. We are even doing a promotional show (which will be televised) for his movie. We believe he has made a good movie and it's going to be successful. Then, Kapil will be back with a bang on Sony," said Sony's Danish Khan.
In August Sony TV had announced that The Kapil Sharma Show will be taken off air soon to give the frontman time to recuperate. Kapil Sharma had been cancelling shoots due to his ill-health and was advised by Shah Rukh Khan to take time off and recover fully.
Things started to disintegrate for Kapil's show after his fight with former co-star Sunil Grover. The reshuffling of cast members and the beginning of a rival Krushna Abhishek's comedy show on the same channel took a toll on Kapil's health. In August a spokesperson from the channel said that Kapil and Sony TV bosses have "mutually agreed to take a short break" and the show will be back once Kapil Sharma recovers fully. Kapil, who confessed to have struggled with alcoholism, checked into a rehab and returned once things were sorted.
Kapil Sharma recently visited the sets of Super Dancer Chapter 2, which was earlier used for his show. Kapil said that it was an 'emotional moment.'
Firangi also stars Ishita Dutta and is directed by Rajiv Dhingra.
