Salman in a still from Bajrangi Bhaijaan
New Delhi:
Bhar Do Jholi Meri, the brand-new song from the Kabir Khan-directed Bajrangi Bhaijaan, shows the film's lead actor Salman Khan praying fervently at a dargah in Pakistan for the well-being of his young charge, a 'girl without a voice.' Crooned by Adnan Sami, the soulful number was released on Twitter on June 25 by Salman.
The emotionally-charged qawwali takes the story of the film a step forward from the trailer and the songs released so far.
In the first look, Salman, who was shown as a devout worshipper of Lord Hanuman, vowed to to help a little girl 'without a voice' find her way home to Pakistan. In Bhar Do Jholi Meri, the troubled-looking actor is chased by Pakistani police as he tries to cross the border with some help from Nawazuddin Siddiqui, cast as a lawyer.
The landscape shifts from dusty desert to the dargah to snowy peaks.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which also features Kareena Kapoor, Ali Quli Mirza, Deepti Naval and Om Puri in key roles, hits the screens on the Eid weekend in July.
