Oscar-winning Indian composer A R Rahman's 1994 chartbuster Urvasi Urvasi has inspired American singer-songwriter will.i.am's new song Birthday. The 'Mozart of Madras' is excited about the creative partnership.

The Birthday song follows the tune of Rahman's original song that featured in the Tamil film Kadhalan. The film and it's music became so popular that it was later dubbed in Hindi as Hum Se Hai Muqabala and in Telugu as Premikudu. The video of the song features Prabhu Deva and comedian Vadivelu dancing across the streets of Chennai.
will.i.am has co-produced the new song with Damien LeRoy, and it was co-written with Rahman, R&B artist Cody Wise and US producer Keith Harris.
"A R Rahman thank you so much for everything. I can't wait for everyone to hear it. When I go to India, you please show me (around) the town," will.i.am replied to Rahman's tweet.
A R Rahman was in Los Angeles recently for the premiere of Hollywood film Million Dollar Arm. He had composed the music for the film.
