Aamir and Kiran's baby named Azad Rao Khan
Mumbai: Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, new parents to a boy born on December 1, named him Azad Rao Khan.

The name was posted on Aamir's public Facebook page and has been reported by some newspapers.

"Hey guys, most excited to share with y'all that we have finally chosen a name for our baby boy... Azad. Azad Rao Khan. I left the final choice to Kiran, and she has named him after my great grand uncle Maulana Azad, the great freedom fighter, whom the family is most proud of. Azad means free or liberated. We want to thank everyone for their warm wishes and blessings, and needless to say we are absolutely overjoyed and feel most blessed. Much love. a."

There has been no update on Aamir Khan's Twitter account.

The baby was born through IVF to a surrogate mother at a private clinic in Mumbai.

Aamir Khan announced the birth with a letter sent to media organisations. "Due to medical complications, we were advised to go for IVF- Surrogacy. We are absolutely delighted. This baby is very dear to us as we've got him after a lot of difficulty. We are so happy and would like to thank all our well wishers," he said.

While Bollywood has been silent on the birth of Aamir's baby, the actor's Facebook page has over 4000 comments from fans and hundreds of "likes".

Meanwhile, the other Bollywood baby, born to Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan on November 16, is yet to be named.
