New Delhi:
When in Punjab, do as the Punjabis. Actor Aamir Khan, who is shooting his new film Dangal in and around Ludhiana, celebrated Makar Sankranti in the approved local manner - by flying a kite.
The 50-year-old actor tweeted a photo of himself, dressed in a white salwar kurta, flying kites with his director Nitesh Tiwari and the crew of the film on the terrace of an old building.
Kite flying is apparently one of Aamir's 'childhood passions,' which explains his dexterity in the song Rut Aa Gayi Re from the film 1947: Earth, in which he and co-star Nandita Das fly kites.
Aamir Khan plays the role of legendary wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat in Dangal, a cinematic retelling of how the Haryanvi sportsman trained his daughters Geeta and Babita to become India's most celebrated female wrestlers.
Dangal, scheduled to release this Christmas, also stars Sakshi Tanwar and Rajkummar Rao. (Also Read: How Aamir Khan Celebrated After Rani Mukerji's Daughter Adira Was Born)
