Aamir Khan, who has taken a break from acting, on Wednesday, during the red carpet of Salaam Venky's premiere revealed when he would be making his comeback. Speaking to reporters at the premiere, the superstar said he would return to acting after a year. Meanwhile, he would be spending time with his family. "I am not doing anything. I have been working for a long time, so now I want to spend time with family. Work is underway on Paani foundation, and there are other things as well. I will come back to acting after a year. But you can see me in a small role in this film Salaam Venky," news agency PTI quoted the actor saying. Last month, he announced his plans to go on a hiatus.
Aamir Khan plays a cameo role in Revathys Salaam Venky, starring Kajol and Vishal Jethwa in the lead. The movie is scheduled to hit theatres on December 9, 2022.
Speaking about the movie, the actor revealed that he is "glad" that Revathy gave him the opportunity to be part of such an "inspirational" story. He added that he is "proud" to be part of this film.
"I am glad Revathy gave me an opportunity to be part of this film... It is a true story. Venky was alive a few years ago. His mother Sujatha and their story is so inspirational. I felt so happy that Revathy has made a film on this. This film is so beautiful and moving. Every artist has worked so well. I am happy and proud to be part of this film," PTI quoted the actor saying.
Aamir Khan was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha, co-starring Kareena Kapoor. The film was not well received by the audience.
