It looks like the upcoming action flick Dhoom: 3 is yet to receive a green signal from Aamir Khan. (Read: Aamir Khan delays Dhoom: 3 again, this time for his hair)
According to reports, Aamir Khan will be joining the cast and crew of the film in Chicago, a day later. The reason being that the actor's family will be busy enjoying a get-together to celebrate his sister Nikhat's 50th birthday.
This apparently is Aamir Khan's Rakhi present for Nikhat.
A source said, "Aamir's sister is celebrating her 50th birthday on August 3, but the actor was scheduled to leave for Chicago on the same night with the entire team. He was planning to celebrate Rakhi which falls on the previous day. However, the entire family planned to have a lavish party in the night."
The source also pointed out that since Aamir Khan has been busy juggling his TV show, Reema Kagti's Talaash, as well as Dhoom: 3 all at the same time, he hasn't been able to spend quality time with his family. (Revealed: Aamir Khan's look in Dhoom: 3)
The source added, "When he heard about the party, he requested Victor (Vijay Krishna Acharya, director) and Aditya Chopra if he would be allowed to leave a day late. Of course, he didn't want to disrupt shooting or upset any schedule. Victor and Aditya were more than accommodating and felt Aamir could join the shoot on August 6. Aamir will now leave on the night of August 4 and attend the family reunion."
The official spokesperson of Aamir Khan confirmed the news and said, "Yes, the family reunion is happening."
