Finally. Actor Aamir Khan read our minds and of all those who complain about the lack of Aamir Khan or Aamir Khan-related creations on screen. The 51-year-old actor shared the trailer of a new film, which he produces and has an extended special appearance in - Secret Superstar - on Friday. Aamir's wife Kiran Rao joins him in production. Secret Superstar will be directed by Advait Chandan, who has also written the film. The child artiste who plays the protagonist in Secret Superstar is soon going to be a known face soon. She is Zaira Wasim. Doesn't ring a bell? Well, take a good look at the picture below.
"Sapne dekhna toh basic hota hai. Yeh toh sabko allowed hona chahiye," says a very feisty Zaira when the trailer of Secret Superstar begins. The trailer features Zaira as an ambitious teenage who wants to be a singer, and the world to jingle to her tunes, literally. But the biggest obstacle in Zaira's path to success is her father, who ruins her guitar within a jiffy. Hence, determined, Zaira goes incognito. She puts on a burkha and uploads her videos on YouTube. The one-and-half-minute long trailer is emotionally charged and will leave you in splits at times.
And just when you think, Zaira is done, enters Aamir Khan in the persona of a punk-rockstar. Aamir's closing dialogue is guaranteed to make you roll on the floor, laughing.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan stars as Haryanvi wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat in next week's Dangal, which is based on the true story of how the Phogat sisters were trained in wrestling by their father. Geeta Phogat was the first Indian female wrestler to win a gold at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Her sister Babita kicked off with a silver medal at the same year, finally winning gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. The younger version of Babita is played by Suhani Bhatnagar. Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh feature as grown-up Geeta and Babita in the Nitesh Tiwari-directed film.
