Superstar Aamir Khan says he isinterested in history of cinema.
"I am interested in history, especially film history.I feel that in India we don't record history, biographies asmuch as we should. I love reading and I miss that," Aamir toldreporters at the launch of Biren Kothari's book 'SagarMovietone'.
"As film personalities we all should know and learn whathappened when films were made in the past. Like what sort ofdiscussions were there, the challenges and issues. I want toknow about them," he said.
"As a student of cinema I am happy a book like this iscoming out. I used to tell Naseer uncle to write a book, writeyour experiences for us to know what you went through. But hedid not write it," he said.
According to Aamir, the book is an essential read asit is about the period of 1930s when sound technology had juststarted."I think someone who is enthusiastic about cinemashould read it. I would love to read this book. This is ourhistory, starting of the film industry and people who startedit. So it is an important piece of work and should be read,"he added.
Actor Anil Kapoor, filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra,director Rajkumar Hirani, lyricist-writer Prasoon Joshi andDhoom: 3 director Vijay Krishna Acharya were also present atthe event.
"We are here because of history and we must know whathappened in those times. It is a matter of learning andeducating ourselves," Vidhu Vinod Chopra said.
