Aamir turns down film on 'milkman' V Kurien
Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has reportedly turned down the offer of playing the role in Tigmanshu Dhulia's next film on Verghese Kurien, the country's favourite milkman.

According to reports, the development took place recently, around the time when Tigmanshu's Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster was releasing.

"After Shor In The City, Ragini MMS and the forthcoming The Dirty Picture, producer Ekta Kapoor was also looking for suitable scripts to be made under her other banner, Alt Entertainment.

Ekta was intrigued by the idea of a biopic on Kurien, who made India the largest milk producer in the world.

Not surprisingly, Ekta and Tigmanshu were keen to rope in an actor who could transform himself into the character. "Interestingly, they both felt that Aamir would not only deliver but also take the idea to a different level," says our source. However, it seems as if Mr Perfectionist wasn't too sure about it.

"Besides, he's also preoccupied with his television show, Satyameva Jayate and films like Talaash and much talked about Dhoom 3. And not to forget, biopics aren't working for him yet, as the one on Guru Dutt. So he declined the idea," reveals the source.

On being contacted, Tigmanshu confirmed that he's working on the film. "It's not my next film, but it will be made. I am doing research on Verghese Kurien and working on the script," is all he was willing to say.

However, with Aamir rejecting the film, it remains to be seen which actor will step into the shoes of the US-trained metallurgical engineer who pioneered Operation Flood, the largest dairy development programme in the world.
