Controversy seems to be Aamir Khan's middle name, especially when he has a release around the corner.

Even when ,the soon to be released move Peepli Live has been feted across film festivals, closer home the producers have found themselves in a plagiarism row over a song.

"The song, Chola Maati Ke Ram, has been composed by Gangaram Siwar in Chattisgarh, but the Habib Tanvir theatre group has officially purchased rights for the song. So I don't understand why people from Chattisgarh are asking for their due again," said Nageen Tanwir, who has sung the song in the movie.

Peepli Live does aim to highlight various issues of non urban India, and as happens all too often, is this controversy a case of life imitating art?

"Many of these village musicians are financially deprived and you cannot blame them for trying to make the most of this opportunity," said Nageen.

Well Peepli Live may not be striking the right chord at present, but who knows better than Aamir that any publicity is good publicity.
