Mumbai:
The popular 1988-television show Wagle Ki Duniya is back on the small screen with actor Aanjjan Srivastav in the title role.
Detective Wagle, as the new series is called, went on air on November 21 on Doordarshan and Aanjjan says age is not a hindrance in playing the role.
"It's not necessary to be young. There are detectives of my age, I have seen them. Detection is not an action-packed job, it is done from here (the brain)," the 64-year-old said here on Thursday on the sets of the show.
Wagle Ki Duniya was based on the characters written by cartoonist RK Laxman. Actress Bharti Achrekar played Wagle's wife Radhika in the old show, while Sulbha Arya takes over in the new show.
Srivastav says he missed the show and the crew a lot.
"Yes, I did miss it. Especially the team - RK Laxman, Kundan, and Ravi Ojha. I am missing Ravi very much... He had strung together everything, he is unwell," he said.
Detective Wagle airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 9:30 pm.
