A still from Dhoom: 3 featuring Abhishek Bachchan
On this day 10 years ago, Dhoom, the first installment of Bollywood's hit thriller heist franchise, hit the screens. Actor Abhishek Bachchan, who has starred in all three films, says the movie was a life-changing experience for him.
Abhishek tweeted:
Directed by Sanjay Gadhvi, and produced by Aditya Chopra under the famed Yash Raj Films banner, Dhoom also featured Uday Chopra, John Abraham, Esha Deol and Rimi Sen.
Abhishek played a no-nonsense police officer, who cracks a case involving a motorbike gang that loots banks. John played the leader of the gang, and Uday featured as Abhishek's funny sidekick in the movie.
The sequel to Dhoom, Dhoom 2: Back in Action came out in 2006, with Hrithik Roshan playing the antagonist, and Dhoom:3, which released last year, saw Aamir Khan in the villain's role.
Abhishek tweeted:
