Mumbai: After dishing out some horror movies and one with politics as the backdrop, director Ram Gopal Varma is back to making films on crime.

His new movie Department, which will go on floors in April, is based on internal politics of the police department.

"I am doing a fictional film on internal politics and lives of encounter specialists named Department. The film is not based on any existing characters. It will go on floors in April next year," Varma told PTI.

The director has roped in actors Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Ritesh Deshmukh but said he is yet to zero inon the lead actress. For now, the director is quite excited about his first 3D film, Amma.

"For many years I was thinking of making an adventurous 3D film, using the ultra modern technology. I feelthis genre is not much explored by Indian filmmakers," Varma said.

The tentative star cast includes Vivek Oberoi, Zayed Khan, Sonu Sood, Abhimanyu Singh, Naseeruddin Shah along withfew American actors among others.

Amma will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and English, Varma said, adding that the shooting will begin fromthe first week of February.
