Filmmaker Karan Johar, who was recently seen in director Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet asked Anurag to write another role for him. Karan was seen in a negative role in the film which featured actors Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in lead roles.

Set in the sixties, Bombay Velvet, is the screen adaptation of Gyan Prakash's Mumbai Fables. The story is about a man with big dreams and the extent to which he'll go to be successful. (Also Read: Bombay Velvet's Failure has Liberated Me. Says Anurag Kashyap)
However, the box office performance of Bombay Velevt was disappointing.
Meanwhile, KJo is also directing Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka and Ranbir. The film will release on June 3 next year.
