Singer Adnan Sami will be honouredwith an Award of Recognition in Canada for his contribution inpromoting and celebrating the South Asian heritage througharts, culture and music.
The 39-year-old will be awarded by the Speaker at theLegislature at Queen's Park, Ontario Parliament, Canada.
A special reception for him will also be organised byShafiq Qaadri, Member of Provincial Parliament, EtobicokeNorth.
"God has blessed me with the in-born talent for which Ipour my heart out in the form of music. I can never stopthanking God because my music influences people in theirrespective lives.
"If my life and music brings a smile or makes adifference in any individual's life, then there is nothingbeyond for me as a God's gift. I bow my head in humility forreceiving this honour from such an esteemed house," Sami saidin a statement.
In 2008, the singer was honoured with a similar award bythe House of Commons in Britain.
