New Delhi:

Kesariya, which happens to be the first song from the film Brahmastra, has divided the Internet. The song features the film's lead actors Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor painting the ghats of Varanasi saffron. While some loved Arijit Singh's voice and the stunning visuals, another section of the Internet couldn't help but get over the use of the "Love Storiyan" bit in the track, which prompted a meme fest on Twitter. A video of Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji has surfaced on Reddit, in which he reacted to Love Storiyan being the "elaichi in biryani" meme. He also explained why he decided to stick with the "Love Storiyan" bit.

Ayan Mukerji said, "Yeh bahut chal raha hai kal se (This has been going on since yesterday). We put it with a lot of love, we found it very interesting. We did not find it like elaichi, we thought it was a twist like bahut shakkar me thoda namak jab aata hai, uska ek maza, ek swaad hai (its not like a cardamon in biryani, its like salt amid too much sugar, it has its own taste). Because the film is a modern film and the lyrics of the song are so traditional and simple, and this would have been a fun twist. I still feel that in some time, people will actually start enjoying it even more," Ayan Mukerhi says in the video.

Kesariya has been sung by Arijit Singh. The Tamil and Telugu versions of the film have been sung by Sid Sriram. The lyrics are by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Pritam has composed the track.

Brahmastra showcases the story of a young boy named Shiva (Ranbir Kapoor). He is represented by the agni astra (fire element), which also makes him the missing puzzle to the phenomenon of the Brahmastra. Assisted by Amitabh Bachchan (the "guru") and "artist" Anish (played by Nagarjuna), Shiva's only goal is to attain the Brahmastra for a better world. However, the dark forces, represented by Junoon (Mouni Roy) stand in his way.

Brahmastra is Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's first project together. The film is slated to release in theatres on September 9. Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor found love on the sets of the film. They got married in April this year.
