The two most anticipated films of the year - Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale have crossed the 100 crore mark at the box office. After two weekends, both the films which opened together on December 18 are almost pacing close to each other.
Rohit Shetty's Dilwale, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon is now ahead of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani by Rs 3 crores. (Also Read: Dilwale Scores Box Office Century, Bajirao Mastani Will 'Overtake Soon')
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures:
Moreover, Dilwale also witnessed a 67% decline in its box office receipts since the first weekend.
As far as reviews are concerned, Bajirao Mastani has fared better than Dilwale. Not only that, but Bajirao Mastani, starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, also benefitted from word of mouth.
Meanwhile, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which released on December 25, has collected Rs 10 crores in the country.
