New Delhi: As we eagerly wait for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to return to movies after her maternity leave, reports suggest that we might see the actress uniting with husband Abhishek Bachchan for the remake of the 1983 classic Masoom.
According to reports, the rights of Masoom, directed by Shekhar Kapur, have been bought by none other than Himesh Reshammiya and the music composer-turned-producer has zeroed in on Aishwarya and Abhishek to play the roles immortalised by Shabana Azmi and Naseeruddin Shah.
A Hindustan Times report also suggests that the movie will be helmed by director Bedabrata Pain whose critically acclaimed debut Chittagong won three National Awards.
While Aishwarya and Abhishek have two hits together, Dhoom 2 and Guru, their last film Raavan (2010) bombed at the box office. Since then, there have been rumours of the two working together again in Rajkumar Santoshi's Ladies And Gentlemen and the remake of 1973 film Abhimaan starring senior Bachchans Amitabh and Jaya. If things work out for Masoom, the Bachchans will definitely have some big shoes to fill.
