Aishwarya Rai Bachchan flits through a melancholic but stunning landscape in Bandeyaa, the first song released from her upcoming film Jazbaa. (Also Read: Aishwarya and Angst in 10-Second Teaser of First Jazbaa Song)
Despite the lilting, haunting melody - sung by Jubin Nautiyal and composed by Amjad-Nadeem - the mood in Bandeyaa is deeply tragic.
In Jazbaa, Aishwarya plays a criminal lawyer who must successfully defend a criminal on trial in exchange for her daughter who is being held hostage. Bandeyaa mirrors Ash's emotions as she wanders through the ruins of a fort, dressed somewhat oddly in a black trench coat.
Conspicuous by his absence is Aishwarya's co-star Irrfan Khan, who plays a suspended cop in the film.
Directed by Sanjay Gupta, the film marks Ash's return to the silver screen five years after 2010's Guzaarish and will realease on October 9.
