Chennai: Aishwarya Rajesh, who starred in the National Award-winning Tamil film Kaaka Muttai has just completed a ten day schedule of her Malayalam debut with an untitled film opposite Nivin Pauly. The film is directed by the National Award-winning director Siddhartha Siva.

Aishwarya revealed that her character in the film hails from a hill station near Thekkady in the movie. Apparently, the Premam star Nivin Pauly is playing a communist leader and will have two distinct looks in the film, along with Aishwarya who will also be seen in two looks.

Breaking into the Malayalam Film Industry

Aishwarya is thrilled to step into the Malayalam film industry with such a celebrated team.

"Siddhartha saw me in Kaaka Muttai and decided that I was perfect for this role. He told me he saw some spark in me in one particular scene; when I smile at the kids and at that moment, he decided to cast me. I'm really thrilled at the intensity of this script and my role. It's wonderful to step into Mollywood this way," she said.

She also shared her experience of working with Nivin Pauly and said that the actor is a "playful person."

"Nivin is a completely chilled out and playful person. Along with director Siddhartha, he would laugh at my recitation of lines in Malayalam. On sets, he would laugh a lot and keep the spirits high. But once he gets into the character, he would transform fully into it. The first time we met was a bit awkward as no one formally introduced us. We got around to saying hi somehow and broke the ice," said Aishwarya.

Nivin Pauly: Down-to-earth star

On sets, everyday outside a hospital in Thrissur, Aishwarya observed the immense star power of her co-star.

"They gave each of us a caravan. But the minute Nivin would step outside his caravan, the crowds would go berserk. This happened every day. His fans would just go crazy with adulation. But though he had his own caravan, I noticed that he hardly ever used it during the day. Nivin is someone who just hates sitting in the caravan. He prefers being with everyone and having fun on the sets," she said.

Aishwarya also spoke about her role and said: "You will see both Nivin and me in two get-ups. I can't reveal the story but all I can say is that one look is set in perhaps the eighties while the other is contemporary."

Similar to his Premam costume - black veshti and shirt, his costume in this film is a red shirt and dhoti, which could also probably become a trendsetter once the film has released.
