Mumbai:
He may not be the most popular actor among his B-Town co-stars due to his alleged penchant for cutting short their roles at the editing table, but Akshay Kumar has managed to impress a co-star from Hollywood.
During the shoot of his forthcoming Indo-Canadian home production Speedy Singhs, Akki bonded with Rob Lowe. They apparently had lots of common interests including movies, health and kids!
Says an official spokesperson, "Rob Lowe and Akshay Kumar have become good friends. They have bonded like a house on fire."
Our source adds, "Both actors are almost the same age, plus both are fitness fanatics. They were heard sharing health tips."
Rob plays a coach to the protagonist's ice hockey team and has a full-fledged role like that of Shah Rukh in Chak De.
"Unlike other movies where popular Hollywood stars just do a cameo, Lowe is playing a central character in this Canadian/Punjabi comedy-drama film," adds the source.
Known for his performances in all three Austin Powers movies and Thank You For Smoking with The Dark Knight star Aaron Eckhart, this will be Rob's first Bollywood flick.
Given the poor run of his films at the box office of late, Akki definitely needs Speedy Singhs to work its magic with fans, even though he's only produced the film, reserving a very minor guest appearance for himself.
