Mumbai: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who will soon be seen in Airlift, said that it can't be compared to Hollywood star Ben Affleck's film Argo.
"This is a completely original story and is non-fictional. Airlift is about a Kuwait based businessman, who was stuck along with more than one lakh people, who were staying in Kuwait at that time. Airlift and Argo are different and can't be compared," said Akshay.
Argo revolves around the covert operation to rescue six Americans in the backdrop of the Iran hostage crisis.
Airlift also features Nimrat Kaur.
"Argo is a very small scale operation and it's very specific. Both are different incidents and there is no resemblance between the two," said Nimrat.
In Airlift, Akshay plays the role of an influential businessman, who has made many enemies in Kuwait. It gives a sneak peek of the time when Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990 and more than one lakh Indians were evacuated from a Kuwait under attack.(Also Read: In Airlift, Akshay Wants to Show a Story Which Was 'Hidden')
"I have seen a film like this. Balraj Sahni's Waqt, where a person goes through the same experience. That film got stuck on my mind," said Akshay.
