Surprise, surprise. Akshay Kumar's new movie announcement has been creating a buzz on social media since Friday morning. Titled Cuttputli, this film is helmed by Ranjit M Tiwari, who has earlier directed Akshay in Bell Bottom and also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Sargun Mehta. On Friday morning, Akshay made an announcement about the film by sharing a teaser of the psychological thriller that features him as investigating officer Arjan Sethi. “Yeh khel power ka nahi, mind ka hai. Aur is mind game mein aap aur main…sab Cuttputlli hain (It is not a game about power but about the mind. And in this mind game, we all are Cuttputli)," he wrote in the caption. With this, the actor also announced the release date of his film – Cuttputli will premiere on Disney+Hotstar on September 2.

Cuttputli has cinematography by Rajeev Ravi, who is best known for his work on Moothon and Dev.D. The screenplay and dialogues in the film are by Aseem Arrora, who was also a part of the Bell Bottom team.
On Thursday, the makers Cuttputli teased the audience about the film by sharing the motion poster. “Dare to open? Warning: Thrill overloaded,” producer Vashu Bhagnani maintained the suspense in the caption.
Produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh under their family banner Pooja Entertainment, Cuttputli was reportedly earlier titled Mission Cinderella. As per a report by ETimes, it is a Hindi remake of the 2018 Tamil film Ratsasan.
The publication quoted a source as saying: “Akshay Kumar's film Mission Cinderella is now titled Cuttputlli. The film went on floors after the second lockdown and was shot in London. Akshay shares the frame with Rakul Preet, Chandrachur Singh and Sargun Mehta in this film, which is a remake of Tamil movie Ratsasan.
To confirm the report, when ETimes asked director Ranjit Tewari, he replied: “You will get to know soon.”
Apart from Cuttputli, Akshay Kumar also has Ram Setu and the sequel to OMG- Oh My God! lined up.
