Mumbai:
Trust Akshay Kumar to save a damsel in distress. True to his Khiladi image, Akshay Kumar apparently helped his co-star Asin get out of a rather sticky situation.
Apparently, when the actor accompanied by Asin visited a college festival to promote their latest film Khiladi 786, the latter was almost mobbed by a crowd of young boys and girls.
A source said, "The event was to celebrate the success of the film's music and that's why a venue of an open ground was chosen. The entry was also open and free for everyone and since Akshay was happy with the way the music of the film was received, he wanted to celebrate it with the crowd. A crowd of almost 4,000 girls and boys apparently thronged the venue. And a very big group of youngsters followed Asin backstage. Asin was caught unaware and the mob came too close for her comfort."
The bouncers there too were told to take a stock of the situation. However, luckily Akshay Kumar sprung into action and came to Asin's aid.
The film's creative producer Rakesh Upadhyay said, "Akshay is always careful that neither the crowd nor his co-actors should be subjected to any kind of misbehaviour. He made sure that Asin was safe and even escorted her to her car."
