Akshay Kumar fans have a new reason to rejoice. The actor has shared the release date of his upcoming film Selfiee in a new post. In the image, Akshay is seen sitting on top of a car dressed in a colourful faux fur jacket, black pants and shoes, flaunting his toned physique. Looking dapper as always, Akshay Kumar seems at ease perched on the vehicle, shooting for a song. Sharing the post, he wrote, “My mantra for today – Garmi, humidity aur faux fur…Sab chalega, bas kaam kar, kaam kar. Shooting a mast new song for #Selfiee. See you in cinemas on February 24.” Akshay Kumar tagged co-actors Emraan Hashmi, Diana Penty And Nushrratt Bharuccha in the caption.

Recently, the team of Selfiee also celebrated Emraan Hashmi's birthday on the sets of the film. Clips from the actor's 43rd birthday party went viral on social media and features Akshay Kumar in the frame.
Selfiee was announced in January, this year, by Akshay Kumar and team with a fun video. In it, Akshay Kumar, dressed in a suit, is dancing at what appears to be a bus station. Also seen in the clip is Emraan Hashmi. Sharing the video, Akshay Kumar wrote, "Presenting Selfiee, a journey that will drive you towards loads of entertainment, laughter & emotions. Shooting begins soon!" He also tagged Emraan Hashmi, producer Karan Johar as well as Malayalam actor, Prithviraj Sukumaran. Prithviraj is also co-producing the film under his banner of Prithviraj Productions.
The team also welcomed Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha with a fun video. Here, Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi, Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha are sitting inside a car. The clip shows the four of them holding cards with Selfiee written on it. They groove to Selfiee's theme song. The caption read, "With Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty joining in, the Selfiee squad is in full gear. What say, Emraan Hashmi, ho jaye muqabla?"
Selfiee is directed by Raj Mehta and is based on the Malayalam film Driving Licence, which featured Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead roles.
