Akshay Kumar to remake Malayalam film

Mumbai: Akshay Kumar will be starring inthe Hindi remake of a Malayalam romcom directed byPriyadarshan.

The idea of remaking The Arab, The Camel and PMadhavan Nair seems to have appeared to the actor whileworking on Prabhu Deva's upcoming action drama RowdyRathore.

In the past, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn have acted inHindi remakes of Wanted (2009), Bodyguard (2011) andSingham (2011), respectively. The films became a huge hit atthe box office.

"I am making this Malayalam film of mine The Arab,The Camel and P Madhavan Nair in Hindi. That is the last filmI did with Mohanlal. Akshay Kumar would feature in the Hindiremake and will also produce it," Priyadarshan said.

The Arab, The Camel, and P Madhavan Nair is a 2011Malayalam romantic comedy directed by Priyadarshan. The filmstars Mohanlal, Mukesh, Lakshmi Rai and Bhavana.

"All I can say is that it's a hilarious film. We havenot thought of the title in Hindi," Priyadarshan said.

His next offering is Tezz, starring actors AnilKapoor, Ajay Devgn, Zayed Khan and Kangana Ranaut in hismaiden action thriller which also features Mohanlal in acameo.

The sleek action sequences in Tezz are directed byGareth Milne and Peter Pedrero, who are also behind the stuntsof Hollywood films like Harry Potter and The BourneIdentity.

Tezz revolves around a bomb threat on a train andthe cat-and-mouse game between the bomber Ajay Devgn andLondon cop Anil Kapoor who is on his trail. The film will hittheatres on April 27.
